Overview: E.max represents the next generation of pressed ceramics, offering superior strength and esthetics compared to its predecessor, Empress. Formulated from lithium disilicate crystals, E.max is versatile for both full contour and layered restorations, suitable for a range of dental applications.

Indications:

  • Ideal for veneers, thin veneers, anterior and posterior crowns, inlays/onlays
  • Bridges up to three units, including anterior and posterior bridges up to the second premolar

Contraindications:

  • Not recommended for bridge spans exceeding three units
  • Avoid use for bridges beyond the second premolar as an abutment tooth
  • Not suitable for patients with bruxism or significant occlusal dysfunction

Preparation:

  • Anterior Crowns:
    • Incisal: 1.5-2.0 mm
    • Lingual: 1.5 mm
    • Facial: 1.5-1.0 mm
    • Cervical: 1.0-1.5 mm with deep chamfer or shoulder finish
  • Veneers:
    • Facial Reduction: 1.0-1.5 mm; thin veneers may need adjustment based on tooth orientation
  • Inlays/Onlays:
    • Shoulder Margin: 1.5-2.0 mm width
    • Depth: 1.5 mm
    • Floor: 1.0-1.5 mm

Cementation:

  • Standard cementation materials and techniques
  • Bonding is required for veneers and inlays; recommended for crowns and bridges for optimal strength
